Rocca Imperiale PGI lemon

The Femminello Siracusano Nucellar 2KR lemon was selected in 1976 at the CRA-ACM in Acireale. This variety is characterized by a high juice content and the richness of oil glands in the peel, as well as for the high quality of essential oils. Its size ranges from 100 to 120 grams with an elongated shape. The color of the peel can vary depending on the time of harvest and the type of fruiting and ranges from an initial light green to a final citrine yellow. Its ripeness occurs between November and March. The speed of winter fruit growth and the high productivity make it a widely used cultivar type.

ZAGARA BIANCA

This variety of lemon has been spreading for about thirty years in the Ionian area. Its name is given by the loss of the purple pigmentation in the flowers and the young leaves. It is characterized by a high juice yield and an elongated shape; its size ranges from 100 to 120 grams. The color of the peel can vary depending on the time of harvest and the type of fruiting and ranges from an initial light green to a final citrine yellow. It ripens between December and March and it is a variety in high demand.

ANTICO DI ROCCA IMPERIALE

It is a typical product of the Rocca Imperiale area, which began to be cultivated around 1600. It is characterized by a high juice yield (light color, neither sour nor bitter) and an elongated shape. It is a medium-sized fruit (its size ranges from 100 to 160 grams) and it has a skin that varies from light green to yellow. Its ripeness occurs from December to May and it is highly appreciated product for its juiciness and seedlessness.

LAURETTA

This variety is one of the three clones deriving from the ancient Rocca Imperiale lemon. It is
characterized by a high juice yield and a more elongated shape, than the fruit of the mother plant.
It ranges in size from 100 to 160 grams and the color of the peel varies from light green to bright
yellow. It ripens between December and January.
